Dear members of the Godt-families, again we want to invite you for a family reunion of the Godt's and their descendants. Some years ago (1986) the American/Canadian Godt’s started to organize family reunions. In 2001 we had the most widely attended family reunion, open for all branches of the families, in Europe in Rinkenaes, Denmark. Rinkenaes is the site of the oldest known Godt property for the danish/northgermanern Godt’s. However, smaller reunions have been held as well by some branches of the family tree. In 2002 the reunion was held in Sacramento/USA. Another reunions were held in Copenhagen/ Danmark in the summer of 2003, in St. Louis/USA in 2004, in Halle/Westphalia/Germany in 2005, in Springfield/Illinois/ USA in 2006, in Rendsburg/Germany in 2007, in Atlanta/USA in 2008 . This time we want to have now a reunion in Steinhagen/Westphalia/Germany, the home base area of the Westphalian Godt’s. The reunion shall be at Saturday, 11. July 2009 in the Berghotel Quellental (Mountain-Hotel Springvalley) in Steinhagen near Halle. With this we want to invite all Godt’s and their families and their descendants to this reunion. Although the newest family researches may tell us, that there may be no direct connection between the Danish (northern) an the Westphalian part of the family, as we thought before,this reunion should give us the possibility to strengthen the contact between the Godt’s of all areas and make possible new contacts. We are sending this invitation to all Godt’s we know or who we found in public lists. The program and the information about the Hotels you will find included with this invitation.This information also will be published under the link Family Reunion 2009 on the Homepage www.Godt.de. Also on the Godt Homepage, you will find a list of the family members, who have been invited with remarks, who has registered. We kindly ask you to forward this invitation to other interested family members, who probably would be interested but haven’t got their invitation directly, because we don’t have them on our address list.. All other information will be updated on the Godt-Homepage http://www.godt.de/Reunion/Reunion2009/index2009.htm. We kindly ask you to make your reservation before May, 31th, 2009, so we are able to see early enough how the registration is coming along. Programme of the Godt family reunion 2009 in Steinhagen / Westfalen: Friday, July, 10th: Evening
at about 7 pm, unofficial meeting in the Restaurant of
Berghotel Quellental, Saturday, July, 11th: Common breakfast of the hotel guests and interested other guests in the Berghotel Quellental Approx.
9:30 am departure from Berghotel Quellental with chartered bus to
Bielefeld 12:30 to 2:30 pm lunch break in Bielefeld for your own plans 2:30 to 3:00 pm climbing up to the Sparrenburg (a mountain-castle in Bielefeld) 3:00 to 4:00 pm guided tour in the Sparrenburg Approx. 4:30 pm coming back to Berghotel Quellental by bus, Common coffee and cake if interested to do so. After that family reunion with talking and exchange of family information. At about 7:00 pm buffet, which will cost approx. Euro 25,-- per Person (without beverages) Sunday, July 12th: Common breakfast of the hotel guests and interested other guests in the Berghotel Quellental aprox. 10:00 am if there is interest, visit of the local museum Steinhagen with the focus on the destilling of schnaps, which made famous the “Steinhäger” Hotel: Berghotel
