By 2nd Wife: Christian Godt (1784--1842) born in Rinkenaes and died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1808 he was a policeman in Philadelphia. He became a citizen 28 January 1814. In 1819 married a woman named Elisabeth (unknown--1842). She and their son both died in 1842 in Philadelphia, Pennsylv.. The son was 15 years old. His second wife was the sister of the first wife. Christian Godt's name appears in the 1818 list of foreign born residents of Utica, Illinois. There are letters written by Christian Godt held by Peter Karl Godt of Rendsburg, Germany. There is no further information available about any other descendants. Peter Karl says that Christian, his wife and child all died in 1842 of cholera. Peter and John Grover Godt found a Christian Godt listed in the book "Foreign Born Residents of Utica Illinois." There is also a listing for a Valentine Godt who lived there in 1811. Peter Godt (5
April 1787—unknown) born in Rinkenaes. In 1818 he married Metta
Christina Hansen (unknown--unknown) the daughter of Jacob Hansen
from Holboel, Denmark. She brought with her a wedding chest
with the 1818 date painted on it. It survived fire and war.
It is now in the open air museum in Kiel (brought by Peter Karl), inside a house
that was moved from Kvaers, Denmark. They had three children.
